IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM JOHN MAYALL
I have decided, due to the risks of the pandemic and my advancing age, that it is time for me to hang up my road shoes. As a result I will be radically reducing my touring schedule and will be limiting my performances to local shows near my home in California, and the occasional concert further afield. My epic road dog days however have come to an end. I want to thank my audience for all the wonderful decades of shows, your infectious enthusiasm for my music and for your support throughout my many musical incarnations. It has been a privilege to have spent my life doing what I love and having you along for the ride with me through all of it. I may not be travelling to your location, but I do want to continue to share my love of the Blues with you. I have a new musical offering coming your way in the form of my album “The Sun is Shining Down,” which will be released by Forty Below Records on January 21st, featuring my long-time rhythm section of Greg Rzab and Jay Davenport as well as some exciting special guests. I’m proud of what we came up with and excited to share it with you. I look forward to seeing those of you who can attend my local shows, and I will miss all of you who cannot, but as always, keep loving the Blues! —John Mayall
One of the VERY few "white" musicians who have actively contributed by adding a distinctive, personal style to what we call Blues. He shall forever be remembered in a straight line with the elder giants, e.g. Charlie Patton, Robert Johnson, Elmore James etc.
His art keeps resounding within me, never to end.
Deeply indebted, thank you!
He was my musical hero since 1967 , I was 17 that time years old. With my little money I bought the dubble album several albums like Bluesbreakers, Diary of a Band, Blues Giant. In Leiden (The Netherlands) 31 mai 2017 I visited the concert together with my children, it was an historic event. I remember when I was 19 that the song Broken Wings brought me in an sad mood, Now I'm sad that John passed away, his music will never fade away. Thank you John. All the best wishes for his family.

I was so sad to hear of John's death yesterday on BBC news. Reading that he had died, brought a tear to my eye.
His influence on British blues was huge. His songs were wonderful. His lyrics worth listening to. Just check out Nature's Disappearing and the sheer beauty and sadness of California.
RIP John
I’ve been a fan of John Mayall for most of my life! His harmonica playing got me started in blues at an early age, and guitar was close behind. His enthusiasm for blues in its many forms has inspired me for years!
